Lazy Weekend

As I mentioned in my last post, I’ve been in a funk, and unfortunately, it still hasn’t gone away. I am feeling a little more rested after a weekend of lounging around and relaxing, though. It’s difficult for me to just “be lazy” because I often feel guilty for not doing something more productive. I am beginning to realize that lazy days are actually a GOOD thing once in awhile. It’s good to just chill out and do things that make you happy, and that’s just what I did this weekend. Here’s a little recap of my uneventful weekend:

1. I spent a lot of time outside, just relaxing and looking at the beautiful blue sky…

2. I read outside. Currently, I am reading “Gone Girl” by Gillian Flynn. If you haven’t read this book yet, I highly suggest you do. It’s a murder mystery type book, and I can’t seem to put it down!

3. I made an EPIC 108 point word on Words With Friends. Needless to say, my sister wanted to give up on the entire game after that one.

4. I worked in the garden with my sister. We transplanted some vegetable plants into the ground. This is the first year that my sisters and I are managing the garden on our own, so I really hope we don’t kill all the plants…

5. And last but not least, I made a peanut butter pie to bring over to my Nana’s. Actually, this was last weekend, for Mother’s Day, but I had to include it. Peanut butter pie is so good, especially when enjoyed in the company of your sweet grandmother.

Well, that’s it. Certainly not the most exciting weekend, but it was nice nonetheless. I hope you all have a nice week ahead!

What did you do this weekend? What’s your favorite way to spend a lazy day?

  1. Well it actually sounds like you did plenty of stuff! That peanut butter pie looks amazing :O
And that book sounds interesting – I was just thinking about a good book to read over the summer.
On lazy days I usually just lie in my PJs all. day. long. It’s bad. Very very bad.

    • You should definitely think about reading it this summer! I’m not done with it yet, but it’s one of the best books I’ve read in awhile. And believe me, I have “PJ days” quite often. Hey, if you’re not going out anywhere, you might as well be comfortable, right?

  2. It sounds like you had a lovely weekend, and I agree that “lazy” days are sometimes completely necessary. I have never read Gone Girl, but I have heard that it is a great book–perhaps I will find time to read it this summer. My weekend was fairly normal; I was at ballet for most of the day Saturday, both teaching and taking class. On Sunday I went to a yoga class in the morning, enjoyed the 90 degree weather, and went to Costco with my family. Because we have six people living at our house, Costco is the best place to buy huge quantities of food for a cheap price–12 ounce bags of chips, cartons of berries, large bags of brown rice, etc…That peanut butter pie looks delicious; I love just about any dessert with peanut butter.

    • That sounds like a fun weekend! What type of yoga do you take? I’ve been wanting to get into yoga. Perhaps I will build up the courage to take a class someday! And I agree, Costco is pretty nice! I love their big cartons of berries and giant jars of MaraNatha almond butter πŸ˜‰

      • I take Vinyasa Flow yoga, which is a type of “power yoga” that incorporates flow sequences. I do it in a room heated to about 85 or 90 degrees, so there is a lot of sweating involved–which I love! My mom is a yoga instructor, so I am able to take classes (at one studio where she teaches) free of charge.

  3. Ah, lazy weekends are the bomb! I just love them. I agree that sometimes it’s hard to “do nothing” you know?

On lazy days I like to read and bake πŸ™‚

  4. Your weekend sounds so lovely, and having a lazy weekend every once in awhile is a great way to rest and recharge from the week. My weekend was mostly spent packing and cleaning up my apartment to move out for the summer but I also went out for dinner with my family to my favorite place and got to drive around town blasting music with my sister so it was still pretty fun.

  5. Sounds like a fabulous way to spend the weekend! I can’t wait to see how the tomatoes do- mine are the only thing really growing well right now- they’re the best!

    • Fresh tomatoes certainly are the best! I was outside watering mine this morning, and they are starting to grow little yellow flowers. I’m excited!!!
